Walking around on crutces is not so much fun now but the pain is not bad at all and I’m waiting for my flight back home to Innsbruck. Everything is arranged and I’ll be back home on the 1st of February.
I’ll keep posting updates about my progress
No good news today: I had a bad crash yesterday in the semifinals at the X-Games. The course was getting faster in the last days and the last 2 jumps got more difficult as we jumped so far. Unfortunitly there were many crashes because of the higher speed in this jumps. I was really kicking ass in my run and felt ready to get the gold back… until I crashed in the 2nd last step-up jump…As a result of this crash I have a small fracture in my pelvis on the right side now. It is not soo bad but I’ll have to walk on crutches for a while. I cannot explain why I crashed because I didn’t do any mistake before the take off but I think I cought some side wind when I was already in the air and I was twisted to my left. No chance to land on my skis! Results women:
- Ophelie David
- Hedda Berntsen
- Magda Ilians
Men:
- Daron Rahlves
- Stanley Hayer
- Casey Puckett
Yesterday we had the qualification for the X-Games final. It had been snowing the night before and the course was therefore so slow and soo long! 1min 40sec that’s the record for a Skier-X course! I was not so fast and ended 6th even though I didn’t make any major mistakes. The qualification was won ba Sasa Faric which was little bit of a surprise. View women’s results here. The men’s qualification was won by Errol Kerr. Men’s results. We’ll have the finals on sunday at 1p.m (21h MEZ) and I hope to be faster then and kick some ass
We had the first training today and the course is 1/3 longer than in the last years. We all had a hard time to memorise all the rollers and jumps! The course is pretty good with two freaking huge jumps into the finish.Tomorrow thursday there is one more training day and we’ll have the qualification on friday. Raceday is sunday!!! check out more details on ESPN Website.
Yesterday we arrrived in Aspen. We had a nice day driving up from Denver and stopping by in Silverthorne for some shopping at the outlets
Today we’ll have our first training and I’m excitied to see what the course is like!
The weekend in Kreischberg was a success. The race was perfectly organized and I’m happy with my 2nd place in the end. View results on the FIS Homepage.

Today we are on our way to Kreischberg (AUT) for the next World Cup. That’s almost 11h in the car! The race will be broadcasted on the austrian channal ORF 1: Sunday 15.45h!
The course here in Flaine looks completely different from the course in Les Comtamines a few days ago. There are a lot of very tight turns and a few jumps. Tomorrow we’ll have qualification and race all on the same day. The weatherforecast is not the best (snow!) so we hope for the best: some visibility and fast skis
