Yesterday we had a great trainingday in Whistler, doing some easy Ski Cross and just freeskiing. After that we visited the Austrain House which is a very nice Passivehouse. After a long& great day we finally arrived back in Vancouver at the Olympic Village in the evening.
We arrived this night in the olympic village after a looooong flight. I have some time now to explore the village a little bit before we leave to the Opening Ceremony. There have been a lot of rumors how the ceremony is going to be, who is going to carry the torch,… in a couple of hours we’ll enjoy everything
We had some great training in Lienz the last days and today the final Wu-Tang training in Scheffau/ Waldhof. I feel ready and well prepared. Let the games begin
Tomorrow we leave from Salzburg to Vancouver and we’ll make it to the opening ceremony on friday. I’ll keep you updated and will post some pictures from the games!
The olympic Team for Vancouver was announced a couple of days ago and I’m one of the nominated athletes The other Ski Cross athletes representing Austria are: Markus Wittner, Andy Matt, Patrick Koller, Thomas Zangerl, Katharina Gutensohn, Andrea Limbacher and Katrin Ofner.
The Farewell party took place in Vienna yesterday. Unfortunitly I could not be there as my boyfriend broke a cervical these days. Luckily there are NO neurological deficits and he will be ok but I have to admit that we were all in shock the last days.
Our Ski Cross Team will leave to Vancouver on the 11th so we’ll have the chance to participate at the opening ceremony on the 12th
I ended 4th on the qualification today which was little bit like a surprise for me because my run was not so good. The race is tomorrow at 11.30 and the course here is a heaven of rollers.
I had a tough day in Blue Mountain today. Went out in the first heat and ended on the disappointing 18th place.
Tough day, bad luck, what more can I say? Next race next chance!
We’ll be on our way to Lake Placid where the race will be held on Sunday 24th. I hope for a more difficult course there.
